How I Pay Homage to my Passed Loved Ones During the Christmas Season

Angel Tree 2017_bAbout four years ago, I started a new holiday tradition in our family that allows us to remember loved ones who have passed, and allows my children to learn about relatives who they may have never met. Every Christmas I put up what I call our “Angel Tree.”

I am not sure WHERE I got the idea for this, but the thought just popped into my head: I wanted an angel tree! My thought behind it was that I would hang photos of passed loved ones on the tree and then as guests (grandparents, aunts, uncles, close friends, etc.)  arrive to our home on Christmas Day (we usually host) my children would present them with an ornament that has the guest’s written name on it. Together they would then go over to the tree and hang it anywhere on the tree that they would like. This would give our guests an opportunity to reflect on those who have passed and give them a chance to share memories with my children, if they so choose.

I loved the idea of this, but I needed to whip up a tree and its trimmings with only a few weeks to go before Christmas that year. I was determined that I wanted the tree to be gold. I discovered at that time that gold trees were hard to come by and cost a pretty penny. I decided to peruse local garage sale sites and I came across an inexpensive artificial tree with white branches that someone was selling. I decided to purchase it and I intended to spray paint it gold!

I never like driving to places where I have never been before. The tree was located over a half hour away, which seemed like an eternity getting there. I remember asking for “help” from my guides on the way there. Asking for assistance to find where I needed to go. Assistance in being safe. Assistance in liking the tree once I got all of the way there, etc.

Well, long story short, the tree was what I was looking for and in good enough shape, so I purchased it from the seller. On the way home, I had to turn against heavy traffic which I don’t like to do, so I ended up making a right turn, and then a U-turn, to get in the direction I needed to be to head home. Before making the U-turn, I saw a state mileage sign for a major highway that if you took it all of the way, would take you right to my now deceased grandparents’ house. It made me smile. Then on the way home, I kept seeing doves along the power lines on my side of the road. It felt as if they were actually watching me drive past them. I relate doves to symbols from Spirit and I felt comforted and even more relaxed as if some of my past relatives were watching me, or guiding me home from getting the tree.

So now, how did I design my Angel Tree? Well, I first took the white tree to my back yard, laid a tarp down and spray painted the heck out of it with gold spray paint. It was a challenge to find a nice day to do this, as temperatures in the Midwest during this time of year are generally too cold for painting anything outdoors. It took many coats and to this day, it could probably use a few more, but it turned into gilded gold tree.

I then purchased some small 2×3 and 3×3 sized photo frames. I added photos to the frames of loved ones who have passed – some frames with copies of photos, other with photo copies and in cases when I didn’t have a photo, I just printed the person’s name in fancy font on nicer paper and slipped them into the frames. I then attached ribbon to frames so that they could be hung.

The first year that we put the tree out, I used some gold and ivory ornaments and pearl garland strands that I already had laying around. As the years have gone by, I’ve added more ribbons and crystals to really make the tree a statement tree. I have also collected and even made some ornaments that either have an angelic theme to them, or have a symbolic meaning to me like doves, dragonflies and angel wings. We use the same ornaments year-to-year that have our guests’ names on them. We keep them in a gold basket under the tree until they arrive. Every year when I put the tree up, I feel my “angels” with me. I usually have some odd occurrence happen as well, like a light bulb flickering or going out in the room from across the tree. A reminder that they always  with me.

Confirmation that Angels Do Hear Our Requests

Archangel Raphael heard my request and he is sending me his protection (green rays of light) so that my health stays abundant.

Today I was as my local cosmetic store for an eyebrow appointment with my usual gal. While she was working on me, we talked about how she wasn’t feeling well. She talked about how she was feeling nauseous. She said that this is something that she suffered from on and off for many years. She said that she had been to specialists trying to get to the root of what is causing this, but she has yet to find a definite answer. Before she got into her story about the many doctors she saw, I was first worried that maybe she had the flu! (It has been going around.) I immediately thought to ask Archangel Raphael for his healing light to protect me from her ailments.  (Archangel Raphael is main archangel who oversees healing for living beings on Earth.)

When it was time to check-out, there was only an employee up at the counter. No customers ahead of me, and none behind me. As I walked up, I couldn’t help but to notice something on the counter. It was green. A green feather. Not like the kind of feather you find from a bird, more like one you find from a feather boa. Still odd because the cosmetic store doesn’t sell any feather boas. I snapped a picture of it with my phone. I took the green feather as a message that

Messages are all around us, we just need to notice them. And Angels are there to help, guide and protect us. We just need to ask them to do so. – MBH

Angel Confetti

Angels and Guides send feathers as a sign of unconditional love, and to show that they are near, and that they hear, guide and support us from above.

The kids are back in school and this morning I was up making lunches and getting breakfast prepared. The house is still quiet the kids are still in bed and my husband got home after 11:30pm the evening before from a work trip. As I am at the counter I look outside the kitchen window to see a female hawk sitting on one of our patio chairs. (The table set is actually pretty close to the kitchen window so I was a bit surprised that she came so close to the house.)

She looked at me a few times. I attempted to get a photo of her through the kitchen window but didn’t do so well as I didn’t want to move the window blinds and disturb her. When that didn’t work I tried to take one from the back door. Again, not a great photo. (Sorry.) She then flew up to the top of the kids’ play-set and then I saw her fly to a neighbor’s roof. I thought to myself: “Good Morning, Spirit!” Some say that a hawk can symbolize the growth of psychic abilities, especially clairvoyance. I guess only time will tell…

As the day when on, I saw 1:11 come around, 2:22 and then 3:33 on various clocks. Something is in sync for sure, I chuckled to myself when I reflect on it.

Later in the evening while sitting on the patio with a glass of wine, and watching the kids play, my youngest finds the most perfect, little feather (maybe from a dove) in the yard. She saved it and put it in her special feather jar. Before she took it in, I looked at it. It was the most perfect shape and the neatest gray color I’ve seen. (“Thank you!” I acknowledged to the Universe). There were also some very small, various-sized feathers blowing around on the patio. Sort of like angel confetti, I thought. They weren’t there earlier in the day. And they surely weren’t feathers from the Hawk.  (Again, I thought, “Thank you!!!”)

I believe (and have seen, time and time again) that Angels and Guides send feathers as a sign of unconditional love, and to show that they are near, and that they hear, guide and support us from above.

Angels Speak Through Children

Angels speak through my child to remind me that they are surrounding me with their love.

Angels speak through my child to remind me that they are surrounding me with their love.So today, my littlest one came dancing down the stairs as I was making dinner. She commented, “Angels are everywhere!” as she danced around the room. It took me a minute to let what she said sink in.

I asked her, “Can you see them”? She said, “No,” as she kept on dancing.

I just smiled to myself and took it as a reminder that THEY are everywhere. THEY are always around us. And Angels speak through my child to remind me that they are surrounding me with their love.

Which Angels to Work With When Opening Up

I need to start working with angels to help me with the awakening process

I had a reading today. My second one with Jill. I have had numerous readings from others before. My first one was probably 14 years ago. Readings don’t scare me and I truly think of them as a form of “therapy!” I am told that I am still trying to “open up” and during my reading Jill suggested that I need to start working with angels to help me with the awakening process. Angels are new to me. It’s not that I don’t believe in them, I was just raised Catholic and always prayed and talked to God and Jesus. Jill suggested that I work with the following angels and why.

Archangel Michael: He is the protector of light workers. He also helps to bring clear messages and guidance.

Archangel Raphael: He is good for healing! Jill suggested that I ask him to help heal my anxiety and stress so that it doesn’t affect me physically.

Archangel Gabriel: I should be asking him for clear and accurate guidance.

Archangel Haniel:  She’s the moon angel and a supportive guide for those who wish to develop their spiritual gifts. Jill suggested that I ask her for clear hearing, seeing, and knowing.  Haniel is all about intuition just like the moon.

Archangel Raziel:  Raziel whose name means “Secrets of the Lord” will be a big one for me, according to Jill.  He’s about clear hearing and understanding the messages you are hearing.  He also helps and supports your spiritual growth and development.

And lastly, Archangel Jeremiel:  He helps with clear visions, and can help interpret the angelic messages in our dreams. Jill suggested that I work with him to help me remember information that I may receive while sleeping – not like that happens often or very well lately, LOL!

The above list suggested by Jill for me are also the Angels that at the time of my reading, she is working with the most often. Of course, there are other Angels depending on different circumstances and needs. There is a lot on the internet about Angels. Jill suggested that I look them up and get comfortable with them. I figure with everything I have going on, it can’t hurt. I’ll try anything once. – MBH

Dreams, Numbers and Nauseousness

Last night I had a dream and in it, a post card was shown to me. I remember trying to look at it again and again to see what “clues” I could get from it. I am not sure what was on the postcard, I think that I remember a mountain being on the front of the card and a note on the back, but I remember not being able to make out the handwriting.

This morning I felt nauseous. A common feeling over the past week – No I am not pregnant. I managed to run to the store so that dinner and lunches could be had. While checking out, the receipt total came to $111.11.

When the number 1 is repeated many times to display numbers such as 11, 111, or 1111; it is a sign from the other side saying that you are being guided. It isn’t a destination, but more of an invitation. Spirits use numbers to try to get our attention to something more spiritually significant.

According to Doreen Virtue, 1, 11, 111, and 1111 in Angel Numbers all mean: “Keep your thoughts positive, because your thoughts are manifesting instantly into form. Focus only upon your desires and not upon your fears.”

Later I took a photo of the receipt from my recent store visit and shared it with a friend of mine who works with angels and guides, and also performs reiki healing. My friend suggested that I look up information on “Clairsentience.”

Clairsentience means “Clear Feeling” or “Clear Sensing” and it is a heightened form of empathy. Clairsentience is the ability to feel the present, past or future physical and emotional states of others, without the use of the normal five senses. (I am not sure why my friend suggested that I get familiar with the word, but I never thought to question it.)

She also suggested that I mediate in the morning for 20-30 minutes to see if that helps me with my nauseousness.  We’ll see if I can get myself to do so.  Making time and space to mediate is a challenge for me, or so I think. – MBH
