As a Consciously Awake Person, Are You Spreading “Fear” about the Coronavirus? What if We Concentrate on Shining our Light Instead of Contributing to the Darkness?

fearIn recent days, I have been amazed at how many (self-proclaimed) Consciously Awaken people (who identify with being lightworkers, star seeds, earth angels, empaths, or healers, etc.) are spreading “fear” about the Coronavirus, especially on social media, at a rapid rate! Some of these individuals specialize in energy work, others in homeopathic modalities, others in crystal healing, etc., – things that more enlightened people do or believe in, yet they are giving energy to, or really helping to fuel, the chaos and negativity associated with this “virus” and adding to the darkness, which is something an enlightened, or conscious person should recognize.

As people awaken or become conscious (others use the term “ascend”) we learn that our purpose (which can come in many forms or jobs here in the physical world) is to change the world (for the better) by raising first our vibration and then that of others, and in return the vibration on the planet where we live. (The world is not going to end, it is just changing and we need to learn to adapt.)

As people awaken, they start to understand that everything is energy. And just like we learned in school:  it cannot be created nor destroyed, it just changes forms.  You and me, as well as everything around us, is made up of energy. Positive energy vibrates at a higher frequency and negative energy vibrates at a lower frequency. Energy (positive or negative) can also manifest depending on what energy or attention is given to it.

In recent days American health officials have warned that the Coronavirus is likely to spread in communities in the United States. There are plenty of (un-checked) lists circulating on the internet as to what people “should be buying” right now. In some areas in the countsnap out of itry, some store shelves are empty. On the internet I’ve heard (Consciously-minded) people panicking about not being able to find surgical masks at their local stores and complaining why the stores didn’t stock such items ahead of time. I’ve seen others tag numerous family members on social media posts in the hopes that they are getting the message that the virus is coming.  Then there are the numerous articles and opinions circulation that haven’t exactly been fact-checked that people are sharing and re-posting. Do you see how these actions are adding to the fear?

No matter your thoughts on what is going on in the world right now with this virus or what may happen, (i.e. schools or places of business may close, curfews may be instated, make-shift clinics will be popping up, food and supplies may not make it over from other countries, or maybe that this is a tool being used to divide people, it’s a paradigm shift, a bioweapon or that it has to do with our government controlling us here in the US, or it has to do with politics or our relationship with China, or that maybe the government/pharmaceutical industry is trying to push vaccines, etc.,), you aren’t consciously awake if you are going off the deep end right now! Snap out of it! Focus on how you can help this situation. If you are Reiki attuned, send healing energy to those who are ill, or send protective energy to those who aren’t infected. Pray for peace. Be an example of “love” as love is the opposite of fear. If you work with any sort of healing modalities, keep using them and refining your craft. Heck, educate more people along the way on alternative ways that they can stay healthy. (You get the picture.) Even if you aren’t 100% sure how to assist others in healing or protection, intention is everything. And no matter what happens in the coming weeks or months, be ready to walk through the fire with your head high and your shoulders back, connected to your Higher Self/God/Source if need be, but in the meantime, don’t add to the panic and negativity that is spreading at a rapid rate. Shine your light to combat the darkness.

[Harlem] Wizards, Symbols and Signs and What about that Shade?

I am sharing this post with you so you can see how much those of us who are sensitive try to balance so much all at once while trying to act like nothing behind the scenes is going on. As well as how Spirit can help you out with even the little things.

Last night our school district put on a fundraiser where the Harlem Wizards performed and did some interactive activities with the audience. A day or two before the event, I wasn’t sure that I wanted to go as large crowds can still be exhausting to the Empath in me no matter how I protect myself. I asked that, “My family only still go to this event if we have a fun time and make a happy memory by going.”

Last night I got selected from the audience to play a game called “Shazam” which was like “Name that Tune” for theme songs to old T.V. shows. They gave a practice song at the beginning of the game.  It was the theme song to the show “Fresh Prince of Bell Air.” I saw the top half of Will Smith’s body dressed in 90s garb with his hat jumping out at me. I said, “DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince of Bell Air.” (I gave more than I needed to, but you get the idea of how the game works.

One of my children were also called up to play along. He was placed in front of a basketball hoop.  For every song that I named correctly, he was going to get to move closer to the basket in the hopes that he’d be close enough to make a basket and the end of the game and win a prize.

So much went through my head in a matter of seconds, which seemed much longer as I was taking care of so much at one time in my head. First, I was trying to listen to the directions that I was being given in front of a gymnasium full of people. At the same time, I threw up a request for some divine assistance. I asked that “I get most of the answers right and that I not make a fool of myself in front of this gym full of people.”

Winning the game was furthest from my mind as I don’t think that even registered at that point. I was more concerned about following directions and not falling flat in front of a gym full of people.  Technically we (those of us who have a strong gift of intuition) aren’t to use our “gifts” to win things that we benefit from (you don’t see a bunch of intuitives hitting it big in Vegas now, do you?), but I wasn’t asking to “win” just act with “dignity and grace” in front of the crowd.

When it registered that my son (who doesn’t like to be the center of attention) was also being called up and that he was going to have to make a basket in the game (and that basketball isn’t exactly his specialty, let alone in front of a gym full of people), I sent up another request that “I can do my best at this game so that he can get as close as possible to the basket.” Again, not for the sake of winning, but to spare him from not making it with all eyes on him. I asked that “he please have assistance in making the shot when it comes time.”

Playing “Shazam” with “Swoop” 1.18.2020

During all of this, the MC was doing his spiel and giving me and the crowd directions. (I was to relay on the audience to help me with answers if I needed assistance.) I was trying to keep one eye on my son but yet be alert enough to know what I was supposed to be doing, all while sending up a few requests to the other side…and then I felt it…the shade being thrown at me by two female individuals who were to the right of me in the audience, toward the center, in the bleachers. While being told where to stand by the MC, I asked that I not absorb the negativity that they were sending in my direction and that it be reflected back to them. (Which really, wasn’t the right thing for me to do. The protecting of my energy was, but what I should have done was ask that the negative energy that they were sending my way be turned into positive energy to help somebody who needed it.) Under the circumstances I didn’t think that far or rationally.

Harlem

Then the songs started and the game began and images started popping into my head. (The gift of Clairvoyance.) The first song was from the show “Golden Girls.” I got an image of the kitchen table and wall paper that was in the show. (Got that one right.) Next was the theme song from the show “Friends.” I first saw some letters that I couldn’t make out, and then some dots between the letters jumping out at me and then I saw the word “Friends.” (Got that one.) Then the theme song from “Full House” played. I saw a gray town house and then I saw hilly streets and a trolley, like you would find in San Francisco. (I got that one correct as well.) Next, the theme song from the show “Cheers” played. When the song started, I felt like I was sitting at a bar and looking at the door. First a man walked in who I didn’t recognize and then as I was blurting out the answer, I saw the character “Norm” pop up.

The next song, I had issues with but looking back, images were given to me. I saw a bring wall, a sidewalk and it was dark like it was at night. I also saw some kind of a moving line or conveyor belt. I knew the images that I was seeing, but I couldn’t interpret them. I tried asking the audience for the answer but due to the acoustics in the gym, I was unable to make out what they were saying. Time ran out and I didn’t get that answer correct. The answer was “Lavern & Shirley.” As I said, the images were right, I just didn’t know how to use them. In the beginning of the show, Lavern and Shirley are shown walking down the street arm in arm, at night, alongside a row of brownstones singing “schlemiel, schlimazel, hasenpfeffer incorporated!” They also worked at a beer factory in the show which was also shown at the beginning of each show.

The final song was from the show “Different Strokes.” I got an image of my children watching TV in my family room. In the image the TV was on and I saw the back of my kids heads. My kids recently were into watching Different Strokes and the Facts of Life. (One played right after the other.) I first answered “Facts of Life” based on the image I got but then quickly changed my answer to “Different Strokes.”

I got all but one answer correct. My son was able to take multiple steps closer to the basket to attempt his shot. I am happy to say that he made it!!!

It wasn’t until later in the evening when I got home that it hit me. I had assistance from the other side. (I still get “wowed” when this happens.) What I asked for help with was granted. I asked to not look like a complete fool and for my son to make the basket. Both were a success. More importantly we had a great time and made a great family memory.

It is hard to share the messages that I get when the receiver might not be ready, open, able or wanting to hear them. I also find it challenging to explain “How I know things.”

From time to time I have received messages that aren’t able to be shared. Sometimes they can’t be shared because I don’t feel that the person will believe me. I feel that they will question or disregard how I got the information that I am passing along. Other times, for whatever reason, people are no longer in communication with you or they don’t reply to previous communications you have sent regarding other matters, so why would a message from the other side get any more or less attention from them?  I’ll share two experiences with you. One had to do with a family losing a pet after a long illness, the other had to do with warning someone about how their emotions could play a role in the future of their health.

39fb2715950f87679aa2f16c1904459bA Message from a Pet

I knew a family who I chatted with often. Often enough that their dog knew me and would greet me when he would see me. In recent years, the dog became sick and the family did their best to slow down his deterioration and to keep him comfortable.  Eventually the family had to make the decision to put the dog down.  One late afternoon within a month of the dog passing, and within minutes of chatting with a member of the family, I was in my garage looking for something when I saw the dog that had recently passed, literally pass through my garage. It was as if he was playing or chasing after something or someone. He made eye contact with me and on his way by, he said, “I’m, OK. Can you let them know that I am OK?” (So far in my “mediumship experience” animals in spirit form sound like humans to me and sound like they are talking just as you and I would.) I debated on how I should explain this message to the family and I eventually just chickened out. Looking back, I feel that I should have struck up a conversation about the dog and mentioned that I am sure he’s out of pain and OK on the other side, but by me changing the message a bit I felt that it would lose its authenticity so I chickened out. And now, so much time has passed, it seems even more awkward to bring it up now.

It is Too Bad that I Can’t Tell You to Check Yourself before You Wreck Yourself.

In another instance, I was clueless in how to get a message to a toxic person who doesn’t respond to you when you have tried to reach out to them for other things (i.e. invites to holiday gatherings, congratulatory messages and wishes and acknowledgements, etc.). This person has also done their best to avoid me at certain functions. I’m sure to a certain degree I’m done beating my head against a wall, based on my prior attempts with non-spiritual communication with this person. A no response (repeatedly) IS a response, and the older I get, I no longer chase people. I know, not very “love and light” sounding,  but my own ego aside, my gut feeling is that the message that I heard from the other side will not be received well, processed, or heard, and in fact, based on the person who it is for, will cause more problems and tension.

An example of this is when I received a message about the possible future outcome of this person’s health. Normally I don’t like to share with people if I think they have an illness, disease or when I think their days are numbered. In certain cases, depending on who they are or what my relationship is with them, and what they directly ask me to tell them I may share a bit more with the person, but as a general rule, I don’t like to give out medical or health-related information that I pick up on. In this case though, this was more of a “preventative” health message.

This individual tends to hold grudges, many time fictional grudges. She tends to hold in anger, exclude people and she talks more than she listens and I once received a message in regard to her health. The message was:  “If she didn’t learn how to release the anger she carries, it is going to fester into a disease.” The disease I picked up on (and had verified by another intuitive) was cancer. (This individual already had survived a bout with cancer in one part of her body and is now in complete remission.) I first thought that perhaps my wires were getting crossed and the cancer that I was picking up on was the cancer she had already had. But no, I got validation (as well as from an additional intuitive) that if she doesn’t learn to let go of her anger, and change her ways, her anger is going to fester into cancer. I felt that is going to be bone cancer of some sort. I also felt that she will hold at least one of her grandchildren (I am guessing a granddaughter is first) here in the physical word before she gets sick and passes. Possibly two.

olive branchKind of a juicy message, no??

(You’ll notice that I had a second intuitive validate the information that I got. It is ok to use other people to help you to validate if the information you are getting is correct or not, or to see if your head is getting in the way of your intuition.)

Since getting this message I have extended the olive branch to both this individual as well as to some of her surrounding family members with little to no success. Perhaps someday I will be given the opportunity to deliver it, if it is not too late. All I can do in the meantime is send healing energy in that person’s direction. It is hard to share the messages that I get when the receiver isn’t ready, open, able or wanting to hear them.

Intuition, [Social] Media and Law Enforcement

This post is not meant to be insensitive to real acts of discrimination and homophobia, nor is it intended to downplay the dangers that our first responders face every day, but rather to discuss how those with strong intuitive or emapthic abilities struggle with what plays out in the media, as I bring up two different stories that had far different outcomes than what the media (and even social media) first suggested happened, in this particular post.

Smollett+caseToday day I woke up to the headlines that read: Police: Two brothers told investigators they were paid by Jussie Smollett to stage attack. I will tell you that from the get-go, that this case, as it was stated in the media, never felt right to me.  From the first time I heard about Jussie Smollett’s attack (Smollett, who is black and gay, said he was attacked while walking home through Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood. He told police masked men tied a noose around his neck, poured bleach on him and yelled the slurs at him.) Something felt very off or inauthentic about this story to me. Better yet, I felt that the story or incident was fake. I of course kept these thoughts to myself as the world we are living in today IS full of discriminative and homophobic acts. These things really do happen.  Because these alleged incidents happened to an actor, they took center stage in the media.

meganWithin moments of the story breaking and in the days to come, outpouring from stars and social media were made known and publicized. Each time I heard or saw someone showing their support or making a statement on behalf of what Smollett alleged happened to him, I honestly felt a kick in my gut. I kept thinking that this doesn’t feel right. It has been fabricated. The statements made by his family felt off, too. It got to the point that I found myself trying to avoid the story – turning the channel, swiping faster through a newsfeed, or changing the radio station. It was as if I was shutting down around the story whenever it came up.

This sort of thing – thinking that a story in a community, or in the media just isn’t feeling right – I have experienced before. One of the really memorable times was when I first started to realize that I myself was an empath and that I had strong intuitive abilities.

joeThe story that I am referring to is the death of Lt. Charles Joseph “Joe” Gliniewicz of the Fox Lake, Illinois Police Department that happened back in 2015. I live in the Midwest so this story was front and center from the moment it happened. The media started to paint a picture of a heroic man who had 30 years on his force, who was an Army Veteran and who was running a non-profit Explorer organization for children in the community, who was murdered while on duty. The media put him on a pedestal and gave him the nick name of “G.I. Joe.”

RIP GI JOEI noticed that people, even those who never knew him started to change their social media profile pictures to show their support for him, re-posting different images and news stories showing support for “G.I. Joe” and wanting justice for those who were responsible his death. There were reports of numerous people donating large sums of money to find the people who supposedly killed him. I remember that it didn’t feel right to me but I didn’t think much of it. The story was hard to get away from as it was everywhere.

In the days and weeks that followed, I kept getting different tidbits that would pop into my head. Things like “this case has to do with a woman.” Things like “money had something to do with this.” And thoughts like “this guy really isn’t a hero.”

Well, low and behold, as time when on, I later discovered that my “thoughts” WERE my intuition and that my intuition was correct. You can goggle the story for more details but basically Mr. Gliniewicz was using non-profit funds for his own use and was raising a red flag with a female who was now accusing him of such and it was later determined that he committed suicide as an end result of the extensive criminal acts he had been committing.

Everyone has intuition, some of us just have stronger abilities than others. Just like some of us are more athletic than others, a better cook or a better artist or musician than others… you get the idea. And an Empath trait is to “shut down” or find themselves avoiding unauthentic people.  I guess you can say that I shut down when I hear certain news stories or see things on social media.

Both the media and social media get to me more challenging for me to be around. Both make my blood boil as both can assist in making things something they are not. Intuitive abilities aside, I personally wish that the media would stop trying to entertain us and play on our emotions and just state facts when they report on a new story. When did the media decide to make “characters” (good or bad) out of the subjects in the news?  When did other people’s social media posts and photos on social media become statements that are used on the news to help spin a story?

Though it doesn’t happen all of the time, but really it DOES happen too much, I wish that law enforcement would not release so much information so that the media didn’t have so much information to play up for entertainment purposes and that people sitting behind their phones or screens could forward/repost stories in which all of the facts aren’t figured out yet.

I also wish that the general public would not be so quick to cling on to the media’s every word or to everything that they see in their social media newsfeeds and wait for the facts to come out.

For myself, I wish that I would not question the information that my intuition gives me the first time that I receive it. I also wish that I didn’t feel the need to have my information validated in order to feel comfortable sharing it.

The stories and topics that I share are as I have observed them, as I have lived them, and as they have happened to me, along my journey. They are not intended to hurt anybody and they are told as I have experienced them. I have also done my best to protect the identity of the subjects in my writings. If you find yourself reading something and suddenly question: “Is that about me?” If that is the case it probably is to some degree because there’s absolutely some kind of lesson in there for you.
If the topics or stories on my blog or in my other writings are not relatable to you, then it is not for you, at least not at this time. We are all in different places along our journeys. What resonates with some, won’t even touch on the surface for others.

Spiritual Teachers, Groups and People are a Dime a Dozen – Especially on Social Media

64361570_1286425438185728_3413864053829795840_n

As more and more of us are “waking up” to consciousness, and as social media connects us to more and more people, it seems, at least to me, that Spiritual Teachers, Groups and people are a dime a dozen, most of which, in my opinion (and from the energy I feel/sense from them) are not for me. We all want to “find our tribe” and find a group of like-minded people where we feel that we fit in. Some of us are looking for mentors to help us along the way. As you explore different people and groups and teachers you want to include with you on your journey, my advice to you is to take a step back and see how these people “feel” to you.

Many people and groups (both in person and on social media) that I have experienced can have low energy, and at times, even toxic energy (drama) that they air on social media. You know, the ones who claim to be spiritual gangsters or healers, yet they post or discuss “sensitive” (violent or graphic) content and language that spiritually advanced people wouldn’t do or use?

In the group(s) that you belong to, do you find that the majority of members are constant complainers or whiners? (When you complain, you remain – most of us looking for spiritual growth want to move forward.)

What kinds of energy do those in your “group” carry? A high-vibrational energy? Or a low-vibrational energy? Are they draining to you? I have found that I am (and my gifts are) too sensitive for most groups and I’ve had to exit stage left more than a handful of times.  Learn to “delete” the things and people that drain you! Energies are contagious. The right people who match your vibrational level and find you.

How many people are you connected with whose goal is to “sell” you something – an oil, a crystal, a piece of jewelry, a class, distance healing, a monthly membership, whatever it is, fill in the blank. Does it feel like they are trying to get more followers for their own benefit? Or are they genuinely interested in helping people with their goods and/or services? Maybe they started a meet-up or online group with the intention to solicit to people like you? Don’t get me wrong, we all have to make a living and we all do it in different ways, but if a person, group or teacher feels inauthentic, they probably are and it probably is.

scamWhen it comes to buying goods or services, also take a step back and ask yourself if the prices seem reasonable. Where are the items sourced? If you shop around a bit, you will be able to come up with the average cost of different types of crystals, oils, and energy services for where you live. If something seems to be priced too good to be true, well, as the saying goes, it might just be.  Sometimes the item may cost a little more, but the person or the knowledge that comes with it, can make all the difference.

As far as teachers and mentors go, I feel we all have something to learn from everyone – both good and bad. Some people claim to be “teachers” but I have found that they should be doing their own inner work before trying to teach or help others. You may also cross paths with a teacher who you want to be NOTHING like. (There is still a lesson in that.)

The best teachers and mentors I have had, always gave me the “tools” (not necessarily a program) that I needed along my journey, at the right time. I have been able to incorporate what I have learned from them, into my life, to help me to grow or heal or to expand my gifts. The best teachers have also opened my eyes to different things, but didn’t always give me the answer. They would lead or nudge me to figure out the answer – sometimes on my own and sometimes with their assistance. The empowering ones are the best ones.

I have also found that some of the best mentors, though many ARE on social media, are a bit more under the radar and they post with what I call “grace.” (Not necessarily selfies that look like they belong on a dating site or images filled with “ego.”) They aren’t all “Look at me!”

The “teachers” who try to get a bunch of followers under them or the umbrella of their business, I have not found are the teachers for me.  These are usually the ones asking for a financial arm and leg from their students (or groupies), or a bunch of volunteered hours in order to be certified in something. (As a reminder, we all have intuition, you don’t need a certification that says you have it!)  The ones looking for a monthly, re-occurring membership I haven’t found to be necessary either on my spiritual path, either.

We are all energy. And energy is always in contact motion. With that said, we shouldn’t and aren’t meant to stay in one place forever, whether that means in the same group, around the same people or with the same mentors forever. The universes places stepping stones in front of us and as we advance, new people, teachers and resources are put in our path – if we choose to follow.

In My Opinion, Talking to Your Loved Ones on the Other Side, Shouldn’t Break the Bank

As an intuitive medium, I find stories like this one disheartening:

Edmonton psychic medium called a scam by clients left waiting for readings, refunds

You can read about it here: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/edmonton-carmel-joy-baird-medium-1.4711091

Cramel Joy.pngThose of us who declare that we have mediumship abilities face enough skepticism as it is, and when higher-profile mediums tarnish the “industry,” it makes it even harder for the rest of us to open the eyes and hearts of disbelievers to the other side.

First off, I want to set the record straight that we are ALL born with clear psychic abilities, but they generally tend to get shut down during adolescence and many times get buried and not nurtured to be reignited again. And some of us have stronger abilities than others.

We ALL also have the ability to receive signs and symbols from the other side. Have you ever noticed a feather in your path after pondering a question or thinking about a loved one who has passed? Have you ever come across a handwritten note or a card from a loved one who has passed around your birthday or a special time in your life? What about hearing a specific song on the radio, maybe one that isn’t on today’s top play list that connects you with someone who is no longer here?  We don’t necessarily need to pay anyone to delivery these messages to us, we just need to keep your hearts and minds (and eyes and ears) open and aware to what is around us so that we can connect the dots.

Some people have a strong gift of mediumship and choose to make a living off of it and that is fine. It is okay to pay for a “service” but not pay a ridiculous price for it. It should be noted that Mediums who use their gifts to make a living, need to bring home a paycheck too, as they need to eat, put a roof over their head and in many cases raise a family as well. One also needs to consider that you get what you pay for. A seasoned medium will charge a decent rate, but you will know by the healing you feel afterwards, that it was worth it. (I always say that a good reading is better than a session on the couch in the therapist’s office.) Spirit will also come through in a reading giving you whatever messages you NEED to receive and NOT necessarily the message or information that you are looking for prior to a reading.

Unless a portion of your reading proceeds are going to charity, on average nobody should be paying $200 or more for a reading, let alone $500 or $600 on upward. Do the math. An average reading takes an hour. At $200 an hour, the medium is charging more than $3.00 a minute.

I also find it irritating when people offer courses or certifications to become a medium. You can work to strengthen your gifts, but either you have it or you don’t. You can’t buy it. And most of the work that is needed to be done, needs to be done looking inward and not necessarily online. The monthly memberships offered by some, to gain access to materials, is bothersome to me as well. You aren’t necessarily forming a relationship with the person whose name is one the web site. They have an office staff reading the emails and posting the materials. You aren’t “training” alongside a celebrity.

When shopping around for a Medium, you don’t need to see any credentials like a certification. I have found all of my good intuitive mediums via word-of-mouth and they have all had a positive reputation. You won’t necessarily find the positive ones in the yellow pages or on social media, as on social media, they, or should I say “we,” are a dime a dozen. Similarly, my advice to others is to not pay for things like a pendulum reading or to have someone “pull a card for you” for a sum of money. Those are all things that one can do on their own and they don’t necessarily need polished or refined gifts to do so or to get answers from.

And yet we all need to find a way to bring home a pay check of some sort, the idea behind having the gift of mediumship is to share the gift with others. One’s gifts also gets stronger as they help others, including those who are seeking to expand their gifts. The reward for the teacher isn’t just monetary, their gifts grow as well. Some will also say that those with gifts will lose or hinder their gifts if they don’t use them for the collective good, (i.e. for greed, instead).

I will also add, that those of us with gifts can become drained and need to find time and space to recharge in between readings and commitments. And from experience I can also say that balancing both family and personal needs with developing intuitive abilities can be challenging as well.

For the record, I do believe that Carmel Joy Baird DOES have spiritual gifts, but perhaps things spiraled out of control a bit. (I am sure that there is a lesson in all of this for her.)

Spirit and spirit… How I use the word “spirit”

There is sometimes confusion about the word “spirit” and what it means or how it should be used.

Does it mean God/Source? Does it mean the form that someone takes after passing away from the physical world? Does it mean an energy that is referred to when it comes to non-physical entities??

I say that the word “spirit” can mean all of the above.

I personally use the word “Spirit” when referring to God, Source or Creator.

I use the word “spirit” when referring to the form that a person takes once they pass away. For example:  I felt the spirit of my grandmother in the room.

I also use the word “spirit” when referring to collective or multiple entities. For example:  Spirit can assist us in times of challenge or stress, all we have to do is ask.

At the end of the day, I feel that everything is connected and we are all part of our creator, whomever you believe that to be. We are connected in the physical from as well as in other dimensions and in the afterlife.

As you can see, there is more than one way to use the word “spirit” and you will see that I use it in multiple ways in my blog and on social media.

Sometimes I ask Spirit for Help in Writing Birthday Cards, Condolences and Text Messages

writing card blogI don’t often post a “Happy Birthday” on social media to those I am close with. Instead I will send a card (I know, I’m old fashioned), give a phone call, send an email, or a text. And better yet, I refuse to post an “I’m sorry for your loss” on social media to people that I am close to when somebody passes away. (I am at the age when many of my friends and contacts parents are passing away.) I know that technology is changing our world but to me, social media seems too impersonal. (Some days I want to swear off social media all together, but then I stop to think, how would I find out about child births, engagements and funerals otherwise?) When loss happens to somebody I know well, or somebody I have a history with, I will send a card or a text to the person who is grieving. Many times in the card, I find that I will write a lengthy message that I know that I didn’t solely write myself.

I usually have to quiet my mind and get in a quiet space. At times when I first start thinking about what to write, I feel a bit blocked, but once I get going the words just flow out of me. Sometimes when I feel blocked, I will “ask for help” sometimes from my helpers (Guides) and sometimes in the case of death, I will ask the deceased if they can help with the message that I am to write.  Once I finish a card, (or sometimes a text if I think that will be better received), and send it on its way, I nearly forget what the message is or was (sort of like after doing a reading). It is like the message falls right out of my brain. No joke. Sort of like it never happened.

I never thought much of the messages that I write until I started to get validation about the information that I was writing. Sometimes someone would simply say something like, “Wow! I really needed to hear that at the time I read your message.” And other times, the validation goes much deeper. Like the time I sent a condolence card to a grade-school friend of mine whose husband had passed.  The passing was a delicate situation so I wanted to make sure that I choose my words carefully. I finally got the information to flow (no need to know the details) and wrote it down in a card and sent it on its way. A few months had past and I had run into a close friend of my grade-school friend in a parking lot at a store. We chit-chatted for a moment and then all of the sudden she stopped and said, “You know what? That card that you gave [my friend], she showed it to me and it was so sweet. What you wrote she needed to hear and it really helped her.” As she started to tell me this, I felt chills go down my body and the tears started to roll down my face. (Both chills and tears, though they don’t always happen together, are validation for me from Spirit.) Better yet, as I am typing this, I feel the tears welling up. 😉

For like two days after this conversation in the parking lot, I kept thinking “Wow!!” And how in “Awe” I was by the conversation… the chills…the tears… the whole thing!

On the flip side of this, I have had times when I go to write a message, or think that I should be writing a message, and I find that I don’t have anything to say. I literally don’t have words. I find that I’ll purchase a card and let it sit on my desk for a few days, which turns in to a few weeks, which sometimes turns into – it never gets sent. I used to (and sometimes) still feel guilty about this, but recently I have come to understand that perhaps I am not to me the messenger in certain situations. Perhaps the person on the other end isn’t open to receive the message that I may have, or better yet, it isn’t the right time for them to hear anything. Everyone grieves in different ways and is open and receptive to different things. I’ve tried to let go of the guilt and pressure that I feel in these situations. Either way, I am thankful and honored to be able to deliver messages to people who need them.

XOXO

July 2016: I Stopped Biting my Nails and Told the Universe that I Want to Work on Missing Persons Cases.

crime sceeneI know, neither go with each other, the nails or missing persons cases, but really, this is my highlight reel for this month. And honestly, most things that happen in my life anymore aren’t always making sense or necessarily go together.

I still struggle with what I should be doing to best serve me, my gifts, my family, etc. Earlier today, the 21st of July, I asked the Universe to put me on my right path. The path that utilizes my gifts for the purpose of good. Financial gain would also be great, but using my gifts consistently and for the purpose of good is good enough for me at this time in my life as I feel that I am just wandering around in circles. I flat out put it out there. Smack dab into the Universe. Right as I was getting ready in front of the mirror this morning, I asked that I somehow help with Missing Persons Cases. Something that has interested me for years, even before realizing about the gifts that I possess.

As far as my nails go, I’ve been a nail-biter for most of life and even when I do grow out my nails, they are weak and don’t grow very long. I decided that I am going to get manicures on a regular basis and see what I can do in the nail department. Even if my nails don’t grow, sitting in the nail tech’s chair makes me at least sit still. Something that I constantly struggle with – sitting and just being.

Fast forward to this afternoon. I was scrolling though Facebook and stumbled on a Missing Persons Page. There are a few out there, but this one I felt drawn to. I started chatting with the administrator of the page and told her how this is of interest to me but that I am still ironing out how to use my gifts. She offered to let me help her with a case that she is currently working on. The “case” involves a girl who went missing while vacationing in Portugal. I guess we’ll see where this goes. Wish me luck.

Update July 2018: I will say that moving forward, I would prefer to work with law enforcement on missing persons cases, (or any cases for that matter). I prefer this as in the past I have provided information to friends and loved ones who are looking for answers in cases and the information never seems to get to the right people to actually help solve things and to bring closure. It is almost like providing a false hope. Up to this point in assisting with cases, I have always used at least one, and sometimes two other mediums, who I trust locally to confirm the information that I have gotten in relation to cases before passing that info along. I have also learned, and will stand by the fact, that Mediums are to just provide the information that they get and it is not our job to “fill in” the missing pieces in order to help solve a crime. Chalk it up to “Lessons Learned.”

Journal Entry: March 1, 2017

March 1, 2017

Yesterday there were storms in our area in the late afternoon  and throughout the evening. We had warnings all day, and at times in the afternoon, the sky turned that creep shade of green.

Sometimes I start to really “vibrate” when storms come through – it has to do with energy. (I can literally lay in bed sometimes and feel a storm roll through across my body before it gets here.) Other times I can get real nervous before a storm. I think that is the combination of the energy that my kids are giving off when they are scared. I also think that it can sometimes be my guides letting me know that they are close.

While making dinner, I realized that I wasn’t nervous or buzzing. I asked my guides if I should know anything about the storms that were on their way. ( I did this once before a snow storm and I felt the lights flicker above me, which they didn’t, as if it were a sign that the power might go out. I immediately went to charge my cell phone and low and behold the next morning, we were without power for many hours!) So back to last night, I got a vision of a tree out my kitchen window (where we don’t actually have a tree) and I saw the tree in the wind and it snapped in half, like in a bad storm, but I got the feeling that the tree wasn’t mine, so I interrupted that as: “we will be fine or not badly hit.”

Though at times last night the storms that rolled through started to sound scary with the wind and hail, we avoided the worst of it. Unfortunately other nearby towns had tornadoes that touched down, took down trees, ruined structures and took lives. Love, light and prayers to those involved who are dealing with grief, clean up and loss today. – MBH
